With three games left, including the reverse fixture opposite ALBA Berlin, FC Bayern Munich created a two-game advantage on the top of the easyCredit BBL standings. After winning the BBL-Pokal in February, the bid for another domestic championship in the 2023-24 campaign was boosted by a 77-53 victory on Sunday.
Niklas Wimberg and Carsen Edwards shared a team-high 11 points. Sylvain Francisco and Andreas Obst added nine points each. Niels Giffey followed with eight points and Isaac Bonga paired seven points with five rebounds. Dino Radoncic, Elias Harris, and Danko Brankovic were unavailable for the team coached by Pablo Laso.
On the opposite end, Israel Gonzalez missed Gabriele Procida, Matteo Spagnolo, Ziga Samar, Louis Olinde, and Khalifa Koumadje in Round 32. Matt Thomas registered a game-high 12 points in a losing effort.
