Bayern Munich and ALBA Berlin end the BBL regular season on a high note

It was a season of ups and downs for the two EuroLeague teams, but they eventually ended up at the top of the standings of the German championship

Regular season of the German BBL is over, and as expected even before the season, two EuroLeague representatives, Bayern Munich and ALBA Berlin, finished at the top of the standings.

Bayern is going to the Playoffs as a top-seeded team, after taking down Rostock 101-73 in the last round.

Andreas Obst led the way with 18 points, Sylvain Francisco followed with 16, while Isaac Bonga and Serge Ibaka added 14 points each. Captain Vladimir Lucic contributed 13 points.

While Bayern will be facing the eight-seeded team, which will be determined in the Play-ins, ALBA Berlin will go to the Playoffs as second-placed, despite convincingly defeating Crailsheim Merlins 83-103 in the last round.

Matt Thomas concluded the regular season with 21 points, while Justin Bean had a double-double of 16 points and 13 rebounds. Martin Hermannsson added 15 with eight assists, Tim Schneider scored 13 and Malte Delow 11 points.

Crailsheim Merlins and Tubingen ended up at the last two spots in the standings and getting relegated to the second rank.
