A dominating start to the second half lifted FC Bayern Munich to a win, 95-81, against BG Gottingen on Sunday.
Despite ruling out Devin Booker and Vladimir Lucic, the team coached by Gordon Herbert went up to 3-1 in the Regular Season of Germany’s easyCredit BBL. Also, Niels Giffey did not return in the second half after suffering a finger injury. Overcoming the setback, the visitors came out of the locker room with a 16-0 run to create a comfortable distance.
Behind 21 points, Carsen Edwards was the top performer. The Purdue product made 4/5 two-pointers and 2/8 three-pointers to lead all scorers. Tucking in four triples, Nick Weiler-Babb scored 14 points. Two assists shy of a triple-double, Johannes Voigtmann settled with a 12-point, 10-rebound double-double. On the losing end, Collin Welp produced a team-high 20 points.
Elsewhere in Round 4, Telekom Baskets Bonn extended the rivalry opposite ALBA Berlin with a home win, 91-87. The team coached by Roel Moors mishandled a double-digit advantage in the fourth period but jumped to 2-1 and forced the Albatrosse to 1-2.
