Third loss in four easyCredit BBL games this season for ALBA Berlin

Digging its way out of a 13-point hole in the second half, Niners Chemnitz edged out ALBA Berlin, 81-78, on Sunday.

The hosts missed an opportunity to force overtime at the buzzer and fell to 1-3 in Germany’s easyCredit BBL Regular Season.

Paving the way for the team coached by Rodrigo Pastore, Finnish forward Olivier Nkamhoua tallied 21 points behind 7/10 field goals, including three triples. Victor Bailey Jr. added 19 points and Aher Uguak had 17 points. Jeff Garrett threw in 11 points.

For the team coached by Israel Gonzalez, Trevion Williams (illness) joined Malte Delow (head), Elias Rapieque (thigh), Ziga Samar (Achilles surgery), and Matt Thomas (knee surgery) on the sidelines. Yanni Wetzell recorded a team-high 16 points.

Joining ratiopharm Ulm on top of the standings of Germany’s top-flight division earlier Sunday, Telekom Baskets Bonn pulled away to defeat MLP Academics, 95-76.

Playing Round 5 on Saturday, FC Bayern Munich fell to Syntainics MBC and 3-2 in the BBL Regular Season.
