Brose Bamberg outlasted the battle against Bayern and prevailed 76-80 in their second semifinal game. With 8 seconds to go, Janis Strelnieks (13 p.) scored the winning basket for the visiting team, then a pair of free throws by Darius Miller (12 p.) sealed the win.
Fabien Causeur scored 21 out of Brose Bamberg‘s 41 points in the first half (he finished the game with 23), to give his team the advantage after 20 minutes, as they led Bayern 39-41.
The hosts found the initiative again in the third period, grabbing a one-point lead at 22’, 45-44, while at the same time kept short leads throughout the second half. Andrea Trinchieri’s team trimmed to 3 points with 2 minutes to go, then eventually tied to score to 76 points.
