The reigning champion Brose Bamberg prevailed over Telekom Bonn Baskets. Andrea Trinchieri’s side had an easy evening as they were the better side from the start until the end. They won the first half 34-28 and in the second half, they increased their lead as the final result was 83-65.
Ricky Hickman led Bamberg with a game-high 17 points and Josh Mayo scored 14 points for the losing side.
The leader of the German league, Bayern Munchen, was tested against Jena on the road. Aleksandar Djordjevic’s team passed the test after a comeback 85-75.
The visiting side was trailing 48-44 after the first half as they couldn’t stop Julius Jenkins in that period. The experienced guard scored 20 points in the first 20 minutes hitting 5 triples from 6 attempts.
After the break, Bayern stepped up their defense as they allowed only 30 points in the second half.
It was a team effort win for the visitors, but Milan Macvan stand out as he almost had a triple-double. The Serbian power forward finished the game with 9 points, 10 rebounds, and 8 assists.
Jenkins finished the game with 24 points for Jena, but it wasn’t enough for the hosts.
