Medi Bayreuth triumphed over Brose Bamberg at home after a slow start 85 – 75 in the Upper Franconia derby. The hosts improved to an 11-5 record while Andrea Trinchieri’s men lost their sixth game in BBL.
Each team dominated one quarter in the first half. Bayreuth’s reaction in the second quarter was impressive (29 – 15) and they were in front at the break. The German champions never recovered the lead after that.
Gabe York’s 23 points (6 three-pointers) led the winners with John Cox adding 14. Daniel Hackett was the best man on the visiting side as he finished with 12 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists.
Also, a game from week 10 was played today. MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg got the road win over EWE Baskets Oldenburg 87 – 79 after a great first half. Thomas Walkup paced the visitors with 22 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals.
Over the round, Bayern had it easy against Ulm on the road and Alba Berlin defeated Braunschweig.
