Oettinger Rockets were close to an incredible comeback but Eisbaren Bremerhaven finally got the victory 80 – 74 at home. The hosts are just one game behind the Rockets after reaching their third win of the season.
Bremerhaven was leading by 14 at the end of the third quarter (61 – 47) but the visiting team reduced the difference to just one point (71 – 70, 38′). At the end, they knew how to manage their advantage.
Jordan Hulls led all scorers with 23 points while Retin Obasohan had 21 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals.
S. Oliver Wurzburg (9-8 record) closed Saturday action with an important win over Giessen 46ers (8-9) on the road 86 – 80. After struggling in the second quarter, the guests completely dominated the second half.
Kresimir Loncar and Robin Benzing paced the winners with 20 points apiece while Jahenns Manigat had 16 points and 5 rebounds for the 46ers.
