Although they trailed by nine at halftime, Brose Bamberg pulled off a great comeback to win against s.Oliver Würzburg 70-67 on Day 25 of German BundesLeague.
The winner wasn’t clear until the last second. Daniel Hackett with a two-pointer and Augustine Rubit with two free throws gave Brose a one-point lead with 30 seconds left. Robin Benzing tried to score a tough winning 3-pointer but it was off the mark and the hosts sealed the result from the free-throw line.
Rubit led the winners with 22 points and 8 rebounds, while Hackett added 12 points. On the other side, Benzing scored 18 points.
This was a much-needed win for Brose as they are now in a more secure spot regarding the playoffs with a 14-10 record. Würzburg falls behind with 13-12.
Earlier today, Bayern Munich defeated Basketball Löwen Braunschweig 91-82 and increased their amazing BundesLeague winning streak to 20 in a row (23-1 record). Mike Zirbes scored 21 for the winning side.
On the other side, DeAndre Lansdowne and Scott Eatherton combined for 51 points (27 and 24) but it was not enough.
