Despite a bad start Bayern Munchen managed to find the rhythm and take over the game against Fraport Skyliners, in the end, recording an 85-72 win in Game 1 of German BundesLeague quarterfinals series.
Skyliners started the game much better and led by a 15 points margin after twelve minutes (35-20), but at that moment everything turned upside down for them. Bayern woke up and made a 21-2 run nullifying the deficit and trailing by only one point at the halftime break (44-43). The hosts’ momentum kept on after the pause as they won the second half with a 14 points advantage, securing the game little by little without major problems.
The Serbian connection led Bayern as Vladimir Lucic scored 21 points with seven rebounds while Stefan Jovic helped with 16 points and nine assists. On the other side, Tai Webster’s game-high 22 points weren’t enough.
Next game of the series will be played on Wednesday 9th of May and Skyliners will have the home-court advantage.
