In a tough and exhausting Game 4 thriller, Alba Berlin came out on top recording a 72-68 victory against Bayern Munchen in German BundesLeague Finals. The best-of-five series is now tied at 2-2 and Bayern will have the home-court advantage in the deciding match .
Bayern had a minimal lead (66-65) with a minute and a half left but they weren’t able to score in their next four possessions while the hosts were calm from the free throw line making five out of six for a 70-66 lead which was enough to secure the game.
Both squads put on steel defense from the very start allowing very little shooting space to the opponent as the 14-12 first quarter score suggests. It was a game with many shifts in the lead but neither team could gain a significant advantage and it had to be decided in the final minute.
Niels Giffey scored game-high 20 points for the winning side while Luke Sikma supported him with 12 points and eight rebounds. On the other side, Danilo Barthel and Jared Cunningham scored 11 points each.
