Bayreuth managed to make a comeback but Bayern Munich’s Derrick Williams forced the overtime and led his squad to a 101-95 home win on Day 15 of German League.
Derrick Williams led the charge with game-high 27 points and seven rebounds while Nihad Djedovic and Vladimir Lucic added 17 points each.
For Bayreuth, Kassius Robertson scored 22 points while De’Mon Brooks followed with 21 points and nine rebounds.
Bayern had an early 29-15 lead and was ahead 47-40 at the halftime. They kept the distance until the final period (66-58) but Bayreuth came back and was on the verge of winning but Williams secured the overtime for Bayern (84-84). Bayern quickly went ahead by five points (91-86) and that ended up being enough to come out with a narrow win.
Bayern stayed undefeated as they won all 14 of their games so far while Bayreuth now stands at a 9-5 record. Oldenburg is at the second spot with 12-2 while Crailsheim stayed alone at the bottom with 2-12.
