New challenge for Joey Dorsey. The 35-year-old American forward/center joined SYNTAINICS MBC, the German team announced on Friday.
“After Barcelona and Turkey, I took my time to figure things out,” said Dorsey, “I realized that I am far from finished.”
Back in 2008 he was picked 33rd in the NBA draft. Since competed in 130 NBA matches, also notched 75 EuroLeague appearances and was crowned champion with Olympiacos in 2012.
“I want to take advantage of my opportunity here,” he mentioned commenting on his move to Germany, “To play again on the top level and prove myself.”
His most recent European experience was in Greece with Panionios. As for his 2019-20 season, he tipped it off with Jeonju KCC Egis of the Korean Basketball League.
“BBL and its high level is a perfect fit for me” he added referring to the German league, “I bring a lot of experience and a defensive mindset to the team.”
“I am fit and motivated to give 110%,” mentioned the Memphis alum, “Although I have played in many big clubs, the SYNTAINICS MBC’s situation is not new to me. I will face this challenge with everything I have.”
Dorsey’s new side is last in the easyCredit BBL standings with a 1-8 W-L tally.
