In our betting board, I have not yet added any options for the coming Turkish Airlines EuroLeague double-week as I will wait for the latest news before deciding to play something. However, there are some choices that I like and find valuable.
Armani Milan – Maccabi Tel Aviv 2 (+4.5)
Maccabi is probably Europe’s most formidable team at the moment. Giannis Sfairopoulos’ team is undefeated in 12 consecutive games in all competitions while playing very attractive basketball. There will definitely come a time when their streak will end, and Milan is a place you do not easily win at this season. However, even if Maccabi gets defeated by the Italians, I think that it will get down to the wire. The +4.5 handicap is a good choice for this particular match, and those who search for a bit more risk and reward can try without it the handicap at 2.55.
Real Madrid – Khimki 1 (-5.5)
Real Madrid is a strong home team while Khimki loses much of their momentum away from Russia. Pablo Laso’s team suffered its first defeat in the Spanish League after losing to Bilbao in overtime. The game against Khimki is an opportunity to bounce back. I also think that the Spaniards will succeed in overcoming the -5.5 handicap and that’s what I suggest.
Baskonia – CSKA Moscow 2
CSKA traditionally has a difficult time on the road against Baskonia but the hosts aren’t at their best, having suffered a series of defeats in both Euroleague and Spain. They also had a hard time in front of their home crowd. On the other hand, despite many changes to the roster, Dimitris Itoudis’ team seems to remain a solid asset worth trusting. Momentum is with them and we can’t close our eyes to their win at 1.60.
Zalgiris – Panathinaikos 1 (-2.5)
Before Argyris Pedoulakis was fired, I was convinced of Zalgiris’ victory. Saras Jasikevicius’ team is in great shape and despite losing to the to Olympiacos last week, it is well worth to bet on their confidence at home. What made me doubt the outcome is Panathinaikos’ psychology, since a coaching change often works very well for most teams. It is not excluded that the Greek team will react. I’ll probably wait for it to start and see but for those who want to get to it pregame, I think Zalgiris is the best choice for this couple.
