We chose three games from Round 11 of the EuroLeague regular season that provide interesting and potentially profitable betting choices. This doesn’t mean that these are your only options this week…
Alba Berlin – Zalgiris 2
The two teams are in the same position but have completely different goals in the competitions. Zalgiris comes off four straight losses and that’s the main reason that they have an “underdog’s price.” KC Rivers’ addition is very important for Sarunas Jasikevicius’ team since he’s a very experienced player who can provide in many areas of the game. Apart from scoring, the American wing will give Zalgiris character, something that the Lithuanian team has been missing and something that Saras has talked about many times. The 2.00 carries some value for me and I’ll go with Zalgiris winning the game since I think that the yield should’ve been the opposite. It’s the strongest game, betting-wise, this week in EuroLeague (on the basis of its yield).
Fenerbahce Beko – Khimki Moscow 1 (-4.5)
Fenerbahce comes off two wins in a row: Over ASVEL in EuroLeague and over Darussafaka Tekfen in the Turkish League. This wouldn’t be any remarkable achievement under different circumstances, however, according to what we’ve seen by Zeljko Obradovic’s team this season, it’s something worth mentioning. Khimki had a great start but then dropped to eighth place. Personally, I see them just barely out of the playoffs at the end of the regular season. Their roster certainly has quality but the team lacks the necessary character to get rid of the “naivety” with which it plays and get some toughness as a squad. I think that easily or not, the Russian team will get defeated in Istanbul against a Fenerbahce team that is craving for the win.
Crvena Zvezda – Valencia 1 (-3.5)
Coaching changes usually have a positive impact on teams and I believe that Dragan Sakota’s arrival in Belgrade will give a boost to Crvena Zvezda. Valencia seems to carry a momentum but, personally, they haven’t convinced me that they deserve our trust. The Spanish team has a lot of ups and downs in its performance and loses a lot of its strength in away games. Both teams will find it difficult to even reach the point of fighting for a playoff spot. This is a game that wouldn’t bother us at all under any other circumstances but Sakota’s EuroLeague season debut with Red Star pushes me to pick the Serbian team’s win as one of the points of interest this week.
Regarding the rest of the games, there are many favorites that are rock-solid but their yields and handicaps don’t allow us to pick something before the games. We’ll definitely have more opportunities in live betting. Panathinaikos, Maccabi and Efes can help players this team in order to improve the yields in their game.
