Tony Parker has a reason to smile. The team owned by him, ASVEL, started the season in French league with a great result, beating 72-71 domestic champion Chalon. It was the opening game of the season at Chalon’s gym and its leader, American swingman Blake Schilb was once again the driving force of the team with 16 points and 5 assists. However he couldn’t save his team from defeat. In the second game that was played on Friday night for the 1st gameday in France, Paris Levallois won the game against Orleans (93-75).

In Turkey, there were cup games on Friday in the shadow of the Fenerbahce – Celtics encounter with Anadolu Efes staying unbeaten after two games and winning away at Mersin (74-69). Center Stanko Barac scored 20 points for the winners. Besiktas also won Antalya 61-52 with Curtis Jerrells scoring 18 points.
