The Celtics wanted to proved that what happened on Friday at Istanbul against Fenerbahce was an “accident”. Boston was a lot more focused and dominated EA7 Milano, beating the Italians by 30 points (105-75).
For the second straight game Kevin Garnett was used just for 12 minutes, but this time Rajon Rondo was hot and scored 17 points, as also Jeff Green did. Captain Paul Pierce (photo) had also an excellent game with 14 points in just 16 minutes. The difference, though, was defense.
EA7 Milano shot just 31,3% on its home court, with Greek center Yiannis Bourousis being the top scorer of the team with 15 points and grabbing also 14 rebounds. A player who was on Spurs‘ radar the past few years, Bourousis wanted to prove that he can hold his ground against NBA players.
Keith Langford, a starter for Milano, was injured and not used by coach Sergio Scariolo, but it’s doubtful that he could made a difference against the fired up Celtics. Even coach Doc Rivers got a technical foul for yelling to the referees on a exhibition game in Europe.
