Jason Kapono wrote an open letter which was posted in Panathinaikos bc official website. The American forward is thanking the Greek team for its support to his family problems (his wife is having pregnancy complications), but he still haven’t decided if he will come to Athens.
“Having reached a deal with Panathinaikos last week, I faced an unexpected family emergency, that delayed my departure to Greece. At this moment my situation is still unclear and I don’t know yet if it will prevent me from fulfilling my obligations to the team. My agents and Panathinaikos are in constant contact and me and my family will try to find a positive solution. Panathinaikos is one of the most legendary clubs in Europe and I was excited to join them and be a part of their winning tradition. Everyone in the team is fully professional and respected my situation, specially owner Mr. Giannakopoulos, whom I thank personally about his support”.
However, the Greens are already probing the market in order to find the best possible alternative if the deal falls out.
