After the shocking resignation of coach Boza Maljkovic, Cedevita decided to trust an old acquaintance. Aco Petrovic, brother of legendary Drazen Petrovic will lead Cedevita for the rest of the season, even if the future of the Croatian team in Euroleague seems limited due to its latest loss by EA7 Milano.
However, the story that makes headlines in Croatia has to do with Cibona, the team in which Aco and his late brother had played back in the eighties. The traditional powerhouse of Zagreb is not what it used to be, had many financial problems, but it seems to be on the verge of signing hot Euro prospect Dario Saric (photo), who had also drawn interest from Bilbao, Unicaja and Fenerbahce/ Ulker.
Due to his complicated buy out situation with his old team KK Zagreb, many clubs were reluctant to pay the amount of 550.000 euros for a player that openly suggest that he would like to make the jump to the NBA as soon as possible, but Saric knows that he will be a star in Cibona and the team needs him on the court.
