Eurohoops fantasy update for 8th week

By Lefteris Moutis/ moutis@eurohoops.net

This week’s target in fantasy challenge is to change the cheapest players of the team which costs 563 credits and has a lot of chances to earn more money. There was a question in the last post about the prices of the players and the limits ups and downs, so it would be useful to explain how it works in few words.

First of all, a player’s price may not go up or down more than 15% from one week to the next. The price depends on the average score of the player counting on the type: {(price/4)Xgames played}-total ranking. For example, Bobby Brown costs 75,6 credits, he has played in seven games and has total tanking 150,7 points. So, he will keep his price if he has 0,5 ranking in his next game and will score limit up (adding 15% his price) if he has ranking more than 23,2 and limit down (-15%) if he has -22,2 ranking. That’s why he is the most underrated fantasy player in that price.

We are already in the eighth week of Euroleague fantasy and there are still a lot of underrated players who can offer easily credits to your team. Cause it’s wise not only to hunt the next MVP of the week, but also the player who will raise the value of your team. In point guards Daniel Hackett will keep his price with -12,2 ranking and Leo Westermann with -3,7. In Shooting Guards/Small Forwards Blake Schilb will stay in his current level with -5,5, Kangur with -0,5, Bramos with -19,5 and Tabu with -13,1. At the end, among big guys Shawn James needs -9,6 to keep his price and Mahalbasic -4,5 ranking.

So, for Eurohoopsnet team it was time to say goodbye to Jaka Blazic, Semih Erden and Sasha Kaun. The first one offered more than 20 credits but he isn’t any more underrated. The Turkish center has so far only two games with double digit index, so we will bet our credits somewhere else. Αt the end Sasha Kaun was good enough without Krstic in CSKA, but the Serbian is expected to return to action and Kaun will have limited playing time from now on.

Having only 107 credits it’s hard to pick the best players, but most of the money will go to Shawn James, who can easily offer you 8,1 credits only +6,5 ranking. Next to him Jonathan Tabu will be added to the team, the new “Jaka Blazic project” and David Andersen (photo) who is going up every week and is still too cheap.

Apart from them among point guards, Diamantidis, Jaaber and Hackett (he will have limit up having -3 ranking), are good choices, Weems, Papanikolaou, Morley, Christopher seem good picks in perimeter and Hines, Lorbek and Lampe in front line.

Point Guards

Jordan Farmar 71,54 credits (-11,26)

His performance in the last two games was too poor (3 and 1 ranking), but he will bounce back. Cedevita offers him the chance.

Bobby Brown 75,57 credits (+9,86)

He’s still underrated and he is great in every game. Siena needs urgently wins; he is the leader and will score and pass once more.

Shooting Guards/Small Forwards

Vassilis Spanoulis 78,46 credits (-3,54)

Olympiacos’ game in Kaunas is going to be difficult, but he scores 16 ppg and dishes 6,3 assists per game. So, are there any requests about selling him?

Pietro Aradori 65,77 credits (-5,33)

Diamantidis stopped him last week, but against Khimki he’s expected to come back to his big numbers.

Blake Schilb 58,4 credits (+7,6)

His last four games are excellent (having 17, 34, 19 and 29 ranking) and will have limit up of 8,8 credits having only +12. He is a keeper.

Jonathan Tabu 21,4 credits

Cantu decided not to buy a player to replace Jarry Smith and since then Tabu has a more important role. He has 15, 9 and 22 ranking and is expected to continue like this.

Power Forwards/Centers

Stephane Lasme 64,07 credits (+1,57)

Sofo is still doubtful and Lasme will have again more than 25 minutes in the court. So, it’s easy for him to produce big numbers.

Shawn James 53,8 credits

He had been great during last games of Maccabi and against Chalon Saone he has the chance to shine again.

Miro Bilan 45,48 credits (+5,93)

He wasn’t a comet after his two excellent games against Olympiacos and Caja Laboral. He isn’t cheap any more, but he’s still underrated.

David Andersen 28,9 credits

He seems to be in good shape during the last two weeks. He is too cheap having in mind his quality and is our new gamble.
