The German basketball Federation decided to promote one former assistant to the head coach of the national team. As it was officially announced Frank Menz is the successor of Svetislav Pesic in a bench that he knows well.

Former Alba Berlin player Frank Menz was an assistant of former national team coach Dirk Bauermann at both Eurobasket 2009 and Eurobasket 2011. The 48 years old Menz have been a part of the national teams stuff since 2005 and he was the head coach of the U16, U17 and U20 national team. He served also as an assistant in the most recent Eurobasket qualifying games.

Pesic couldn’t stay on the bench of the national team, after accepting the offer to be the coach of Bayern Munich, since there is a rule in Germany preventing the simultaneous occupation both to a German club and the national team.
