One of the biggest prospects in European basketball, Yiannis Adetokunbo, signed a four years contract with Zaragoza! Few days after his 18th birthday (he was born on the 6th of December 1994) the Spanish club secured the deal with the young guard and beat on the race some bigger European teams which were following the player and were also preparing their offer.
Just like Anadolu Efes, Zaragoza sent its representatives in Athens to scout the player and also work him out privately. The same happened with representatives of Barcelona and some NBA teams. After a long process of evaluating him, the contract with Zaragoza was finally signed. Adetokunbo has a 2,06 m. height, but he plays the point guard position. He will spend the rest of the season as a player of Filathlitikos in the Greek second division and then he will move to Spain in the summer of 2013.
On Wednesday the 18 years old player will take part for the first time in the Greek U20 national team’s practice. He is a very intriguing player, he has a huge body, big hands, good fundamentals, basketball IQ, the right mentality and if he evolves the way he is expected to, it’s just a matter of time to knock the NBA’s door.
