Many players were rumored to be the new point guard of Cantu, but finally the job was given to Kevin Anderson as it was officially announced by the team. Anderson will replace injured Jerry Smith who fractured his foot back in November.

One other target that was on Cantu’s wish list was Derwin Kitchen. The player left Athens and Panathinaikos, but his destination will be Zagreb, where he will be part of Cedevita’s roster until the end of the season. The American guard has a team option in his contract with Panathinaikos for the 2013-14 season, however it seems unlikely at this point to be used.

Τhere is also an other matter concerning Cantu. Coach Andrea Trinchieri is one of the main candidates for the bench of Greek NT, but he denied that he said in his interview at gazzetta.gr that he was contacted by the Greek federation.
