Giorgi Shermadini was released last night by Maccabi Tel Aviv and didn’t wait much for the next stop of his career! The 23 years old Georgian center will be the new player of defending Euroleague champion Olympiacos and he will be the sixth foreigner of the Greek team.
The two sides were negotiating during Sunday and after midnight there was a deal between them with Sermadini getting a contract till the end of the season. He is expected to arrive in the next days to Greece, but he will probably miss the opening Top16 game against Caja Laboral.
It should be noted that Giorgi Shermandini will play in Euroleague’s Top16 against Maccabi Tel Aviv and he has also been a player of Panathinaikos, Union Olimpija and Cantu. As a member of Olympiacos he will have one more chance to play in the top european level.
