Neither Spartak, or Budivelnik will add new faces in their backcourt in their roster as the negotiations with their targets broke down. The Russians also announced officially that they are parting ways with Pat Beverley

Eurocup’s Last16 starts, but only two teams announced the signing of new players during the break after the end of the regular season. Galatasaray added Carlos Arroyo and Stelmet Zielona Gora did the same with Dejan Borovnjak. That’s all, since two more teams after long negotiations couldn’t get their guys and will have to wait until the Last16’s break in order to boost their rosters.

As Eurohoops have reported, Budivelnik wanted to add Mike Taylor, however the two sides couldn’t reach a financial understanding and the transfer will not be completed. The same applies to Spartak Saint Petersburg. Russian free agent Yaroslav Korolev is a part of the team, but neither Jaka Lakovic or Donald Sloan will replace Pat Beverley who, as it was officially announced on Tuesday, is leaving for Houston.

Spartak’s front office decided that Lakovic was too old for his price and the Slovenian guard will continue to be a member of Galatasaray, although he was negotiating his… buy out with the Turkish team, while Sloan decided to sign a 10 days contract with New Orleans Hornets.
