David Hawkins will not play against Ulm in Wednesday’s Eurocup game, as Galatasaray announced. The American forward was found positive for “intoxicating substance” after his Turkish league game against Gaziantep last month. The results from the second sample and his ban will be soon announced according to multiple reports from Turkey, but Hawkins is already out of the team’s roster.

This is the second time the American player failed in a doping test. Six years ago, when he was playing for Roma he was given a three month suspension. The official announcement for this doping case by the Turkish basketball federation and also Hawkins’ club are expected soon.

UPDATE: The press release from Galatasaray confirmes the news and states that the team will wait the result from the examination of the player’s second blood sample in order to take action.
