In a decision that’s obviously money driven, Caja Laboral is parting ways with Brad Oleson who will continue his career in Barcelona and he will be replaced in Vitoria by talented 22 years old David Jelinek.

As Eurohoops had reported from the 13th of January, Jelinek left Turkish club Olin Edirne in order to join Caja. The move wasn’t immediately completed, since Caja wanted to open a spot in its roster and Oleson proved to be a hot property. Barcelona wanted to sign a player in order to protect its leader Juan Carlos Navarro who is battling with a chronic leg injury. Oleson can’t be used in Euroleague this season, since he played in the Top16 as a member of Caja, but he is expected to have a big role in Liga Endesa and probably in the upcoming “Copa Del Rey”.

On the other hand, Caja Laboral will be paid reportedly one million euros by Barcelona and will try to fill Oleson’s void with Jelinek, a highly talented prospect. In order to sign Jelinek Caja Laboral had to pay Olin Edirne, but also Jelinek previous Spanish team, Joventut Badalona.
