The second sample of the American guard was also found positive and now he is facing a ban from professional basketball up to 30 months, meaning that this could be the end of his career on the courts

Nobody expected David Hawkins to fail in a doping test, but the news were confirmed and the results from his second blood sample analysis didn’t change the story. As NTV reported, the results from the doping control center in Cologne, Germany were also positives to ban substances and now the 31 years old player faces a ban from professional basketball from 24 to 30 months.

Hawkins was also punished with a three month suspension when he was playing in Italy for Roma back in 2007 for the same reason. He was the star of Besiktas in last season’s historic triple crown and in the summer he signed a three year contract with cross town rival Galatasaray. Taking into consideration his age, his upcoming ban may be the end of the road for him.
