Donnie McGrath left PAOK BC in order to continue his career in Zalgiris Kaunas, announced via twitter that he signed a contract with the Lithuanian team until the summer of 2014, but his Greek team is not willing to let him go.

According to PAOK officials the team will file a claim to FIBA in order to block the transfer. They also insist that they paid his salaries until January and that’s why they asked from the Greek basketball federation to not send his letter of clearence to Zalgiris. However, the player himself already left Salonika for Kaunas and his side claims that there is an opt out option in his contract which was used.

However it has to be noted that on the same day Zalgiris started officially asking for the financial contribution of its fans in order to survive and pay its older debts.
