Antonis Fotsis was informed by EA7 Armani Milano that he had to find an other team in order to continue his career, the Italian club changed its mind on Μonday and that irritated – to say the least – the Greek player.
On Tuesday, Italian newspaper “Gazzetta dello Sport”, one of the most respected sports newspaper in Europe, published the official denial by EA7 Milano‘s president Livio Proli who said that the team never intended to part ways with the player. According to Greek website Gazzetta.gr when Fotsis informed the new position of Milan’s team, reacted and asked for Milan to clarify its intentions: “If you don’t want me, I am leaving now. Tell me what you want. I don’t want to stay in a place where I am not wanted”.
According to Panathinaikos at this point the problem seems to be that EA7 Milano doesn’t want just to terminate the contract of Fotsis with the player not getting paid for the four last months of the season – a sum of 400.000 euros that the Greens are ready to pay – but also to receive a buy out fee by the Greeks. Panathinaikos after proposing to Fotsis a contract until the summer of 2015 is not willing to pay also Milano in order to get the player, specially since the Greek national team captain will be a free agent this summer.
