Nick Galis, Vlade Divac and Sarunas Marciulionis will have to wait at least one more year. Oscar Schmidt is the player who was chosen by the international committee to enter the basketball Hall of Fame as a member of the 2013 class. The admission of the legendary Brazilian scorer was announced officially in Houston in the start of the All Star weekend.
According to initial reports by American media, Serbian Divac and Lithuanian Marciulionis were considered the favorites to enter the Hall of Fame, but Schmidt who still is the holder of many records in scoring, is the chosen one. In his career with the national team of Brazil and also with clubs, like Caserta, Pavia and Valladolid in Europe, Schmidt has scored 49.703 points and 4.863 three pointers.
