The aftermath of the Greek cup final is not a closed case yet. The owners of Olympiacos, Aggelopoulos brothers were dismissed by the athletic judge after being called because of what they said in their press conference after the end of the cup final.

After this turn of events, they replied on Wednesday night with an official press release to Dimitris Giannakopoulos and his offer for “cease-fire”. The text is the following: “Our stance in Greek basketball remains firm and unwavering towards the purge of the sport from any kind of violence. This position was also expressed after the end of the troubled cup final and everything sad that happened. Any initiative that is guided by the same principals is automatically welcomed, provided that it is upheld consistently, without any turns and it’s not limited only to declarations, but being applied everyday with efficiency in all the spectrum of basketball activity. The owners and the management of the teams have to set an example by upholding the ethical rules, having decent behavior on and off the court and avoiding any activity that could result into conflict of interests and subversion of the status and the credibility of the sports”.

It’s obvious that there is a lack of trust between the two sides and the future will prove if the Reds are right to be cautious.
