As Delfi.lt first reported, former Unicaja player Tremmell Darden is leaving Zalgiris Kaunas and will sign a contract till the end of the season in Real Madrid. The Spanish powerhouse needs a player in order to fill the void of injured Martinas Pocius who has an ankle injury and he is expected to return in action in the end of April.
Darden will not be eligible to play in Euroleague and will only be used in Liga Endesa. However the fact that he is leaving Zalgiris is one more proof of the financial woes the Lithuanian club which is currently first in its VTB League group, but doesn’t seem to have a deep pocketed owner after the announcement of Vladimir Romanov about his decision to step out as team boss.
