The best team in Euroleague, at least according to its Top16 record, lost a valuable cog in its machine. As it was officially announced Pete Mickael will miss the rest of the season due to pulmonary embolism. A blood clot on his lungs was revealed to be his real condition, after the team announcing that he missed the last Liga Endesa game because he had the flu. It’s the second time during his tenure in Barca that Mickael is suffering from a blood clot, as he also missed almost all of the 2010-11 season.
This year is his fourth season with the team and Mickael has been a key player for its success, being a part of the Euroleague winning team of 2010. However, his last game with Barcelona could be the win against Caja Laboral for Euroleague in which he had a verbal clash with his coach, Xavi Pascual, during half time.
