Last season he lost the award to Andrei Kirilenko of CSKA Moscow, but got the Euroleague title. This year Vasilis Spanoulis is named as the season’s MVP, but he wants to repeat. As he said with the trophy in his hands: “It is nice to win the MVP because the team made it to the Final Four and this is most important. After getting the title the next season is always more difficult. It’s very big that we are here. Winning an individual award is good but if your team also succeeds, it is a double pleasure. The team made it to the Final Four and we have the chance to do something good this year. You have to work hard and be emotionally balanced with my feeling, not be too much up and down and every day harder and harder, see your mistakes and improve every day.”

This is the third appearance of Spanoulis in a Euroleague Final Four and the two previous times his team won the Euroleague title and he won the MVP award of the final. Here what he said about the Final Four to Eurohoops, before the trip to London.
