Maccabi Tel Aviv kept Shawn James and also Ricky Hickman, while Anadolu Efes may have to build a new project next season without its main star, Jordan Farmar, who is open to an NBA return, despite having a contract with the Turkish club

Despite losing this year’s Israeli championship, next year’s edition of Maccabi Tel Aviv will remind a lot of the recent past. As it was announced one day after the final, Ricky Hickman and Shawn James will remain with the team.

The situation with Hickman was simple, as there was a team option in his contract which was exercised. On the contrary Shawn James after a great season was a free agent and could try his luck in the market. He didn’t as he signed a four seasons deal with Maccabi, a very long term contract compared to the deals usually signed in Europe. The team is also ready to welcome back one of the most beloved players in its history, Nikola Vujcic, as the new team manager.

On the other hand, despite having a contract for next year with Anadolu Efes, Jordan Farmar may return to the NBA, as his agent Tony Dutt said.
