The coach of champions Siena can break his contract with the team and he is ready to sign for the next two seasons with EA7 Armani Milano in order to build a new project with a budget a lot bigger than the one he had this season

Luca Banchi had a break out season as the coach of Siena and he is expected to cash it with a two season’s contract with EA7 Milano. Banchi was an assistant to Simone Pianigiani who was the first Italian coach Milano contacted, but he decided to focus exclusively to the national team project and that’s why he is expected to sign a full time contract with the Italian basketball federation for the next three seasons.

This turn of events led Milano to chose Banchi as the new mastermind of the team, even if the idea of luring Zeljko Obradovic crossed the team’s mind. According to our sources, not only from Italy, there is already a deal between Banchi and Milano and the coach will be paid with a total sum of one million euros for the next two seasons.

With president Livio Proli deciding to take a step back due to his other obligations with the Armani group companies and general manager Flavio Portaluppi being at this point the “plenipotentiary” of the club, the only question remaining concerning the front office is if the scenario of Mauricio Gherardini signing with the team will come to fruition
