Panathinaikos’ owner Dimitris Giannakopoulos and coach Argiris Pedoulakis gave a press conference in order to speak about the season and of course expressed their delight after winning the Greek league and the Greek cup. However the more interesting things were said about Euroleague and Olympiacos.
As Dimitris Giannakopoulos explained: “In our meeting with Jordi Bertomeu we discussed the position of Panathinaikos on every matter about what we consider fair for our club, our punishments, the referees and organization matters. Our relationship is starting to improve. Maybe they have understand, because we proved that we did the best we could in the two home games against Barcelona. There were people breaking the doors of the gym in order to get in and we couldn’t hold them not even using security or the police. Mr. Bertomeu himself admitted that the same happened back in 2007 (Athens final four). I believe that we are in the right path in order for Panathinaikos to get the respect the club deserves”.
For Olympiacos and the punishment of the Reds for everything that happened in Game 3 of the Greek finals – Four games without spectators and -2 points for next season’s standings – the Green boss comment was: “There is a punishment, but we have to wait also the decision about the appeal. We will see what will happen then. I hope that we will not hear anything strange. I made many reconciliation moves, but there was no feedback. It’s a question that you have to ask misters Aggelopoulos. When there is no feedback, you can’t do anything alone”.
As for the moves of the team in the summer market, coach Argiris Pedoulakis confirmed the negotiations with Antonis Fotsis, added that the team waits the final answer of Stephan Lasme and for Dimitris Diamantidis, Giannakopoulos added: “Fortunately it’s just a matter of days to close his case”.
