After days of negotiations, Andrea Trinchieri traveled to Kazan on Monday and there wasn’t any last moment dispute. The Italian was announced as the new coach of Unics Kazan with one plus one season contract with the team holding the renewal option.
Trinchieri will have a full summer, since he has to build a team capable of big results in Kazan specially in Eurocup, after a mediocre last season, and also has to lead the Greek national team in the upcoming Eurobasket. Two members of the Greek national team, Kostas Kaimakoglou and Ian Vougioukas, will also be his players in the roster of Unics.
Also, according to this interview of team president Evgeny Bogachev, Unics is interested in adding Bobby Brown and Nikos Zisis in its roster for the next season.
