“I can just put the key in the lock and close down the team”. When Predrag Danilovic says something like that about Partizan, you can understand that the situation is really difficult. During an urgent press conference, Danilovic spoke publicly about the team’s financial woes asking the help of the state and implying that this kind of help is provide through sponsorships by state owned companies to cross town rival Crvena Zvezda.

Danilovic also published an open letter to Alisa Maric, minister of youth and sports, asking officially from the state to erase the tax debt of the team which is calculated around 500.000 euros. There is also a debt to former players which adds up to 1.5 million euros. Two of those players, Miroslav Raduljica and Rasko Katic, have already taken their cases to BAT in order to get their money.

At this point, as Danilovic said, the team doesn’t have the funds to compete in any competition, domestic or European.
