The punishment of the Greens was reduced from three next season’s games without fans to one and it’s one more evidence that the tension in the relations between the Greek club and the Euroleague is diminishing

There was an open war between Euroleague and Panathinaikos with many chapters after the Greeks missing London’s Final Four, but now it seems that the two sides have decided to leave the tension behind them.

As it was announced, the Euroleague’s appeals judge reduced the sanction of the Greens for “incidents in their home games during the play offs” from three to to one next season’s game without fans. The record fines from the original verdict still stands, but this decision can be considered one more proof for the improvement of the relationship between both sides after the meeting of Euroleague CEO Jordi Bertomeu (photo) with Panathinaikos‘ owner Dimitris Giannakopoulos and the latest press conference of the Greens.
