Nikos Zisis ended his tenure in Bilbao – and the most ambitious period in the history of the club also ended – and the next stop in his career will probably be Unics Kazan. The Greek guard is a free agent, he has drown interest from three different teams, how at this point Unics is one step away from signing him.
It’s the team that wants him more than every other and that also has to do because of coach Trinchieri’s appreciation to the player. After all the Italian is also the coach of the Greek national team, so he already had contacts with Zisis before getting the job in Russia. It’s still a relatively slow market for quality players, specially outside Euroleague, and most teams are not in a hurry to sign their targets, hoping for the best possible deal. That’s not the case with Unics, which is ready to complete the transaction after offering to Zisis a two years’ contract.
After YMCS, AEK, Benneton Treviso, CSSKA Moscow, Sienna and Bilbao, despite not being even 30 years old one of the most experienced guard in the old continent is ready to return to Russia for Unics Kazan.
