Sunday proved to be a big day for Valencia, as Zaragoza decided not to use the right of “tanteo” in order to keep Belgian guard Sam Van Rossom who will stay in Spain, but change teams. His old team didn’t want to give him a counter-proposal – “tanteo” is the Spanish form of restricted free agency – and Rossom will sign a three year deal with Valencia and return to Eurocup.
Also, Greek Nikos Zisis will play in the same competition after reaching the last final with Bilbao Basket. Zisis signed a two years deal with Unics Kazan, the official announcement was made on Friday, but the deal was first reported three days before by Eurohoops.
