The Kostas Papanikolaou serial ended with a happy end for Barcelona. As Sport24.gr reported first and was confirmed by Eurohoops sources the Greek forward is expected to continue his career in Catalonia’s capital.
Olympiacos will be paid 1,5 million euros as a buy out – and has given the permission to Barcelona since Thursday night to negotiate with the player – while Papanikolaou will gain in total 5,5 million euros net for the next three season, including target bonuses. Olympiacos wasn’t willing to compete with such an offer, so the Reds despite their possible intention to give an extension to the player, finally didn’t presented him with an offer and decided to sell him.
The new contract of Papanikolaou includes a one million euros NBA buy out for the summer of 2014. The buy out is lower for the summer of 2015 (750.00 euros). This summer the NBA buy out of Papanikolaou is his contract with Olympiacos was one million USD.
