“We have completed our roster with the signing of Jonas”, said team owner Dimitris Giannakopoulos after Panathinaikos announced that Jonas Maciulis will stay with the team with a new two years contract.
The Lithuanian forward finally accepted the offer of the Greens, despite the initial leaks about the Greek club withdrawing its interest for the player due to financial issues. After all, there is truth in those leaks, because Panathinaikos has imposed its own terms to the side of the player, like they did earlier in the summer with Stephan Lasme.
The president of Panathinaikos also confirmed to the media that the only thing missing in order for the deal with Ping Shang to become official is the letter of clearance of the player, which is expected to be send soon by the Chinese basketball federation.
