The experienced Greek center Andreas Glyniadakis, who played in the past even in the NBA and also in some of the biggest European clubs, signed with Lietuvos Rytas and spoke exclusively to Eurohoops about the new challenge in his career.

The reason he chose to be a member of coach Dirk Bauermann’s team are simple: “I wanted to compete in a club which competes in Euroleague or Eurocup and I chose Lietuvos Rytas, which has high goals for this season. It’s a team that can qualify to Euroleague and if not, then we will compete in Eurocup. Also it’s very important that the team is a part of VTB League, so practically that means two big games every week. The coach is good and experienced, the fans are crazy about the team and basketball, while Vilnius is a beautiful city. I like the fact that Lithuanians live for basketball. I want to help Lietuvos Rytas achieve its goals”.

And the biggest goal is the Lithuanian league title: “The biggest challenge is to win the domestic championship. The team has made a lot of good moves and I believe than we can be the new champions”.
