Italian basketball seems to be in the middle of a renaissance with the national team leading the charge in Eurobasket 2013 and one of the most respected Italian former players, Claudio Coldebella, is the head of an more than interesting effort. He is the general manager of LNP, meaning that he is in charge of every Italian league and division excluding Legabasket.

With the help of Nikola Tolomei, as the marketing director, and Stefano Valenti, head of communications, they are traveling around Italy this summer in order to meet almost every club from Lega Due to the lesser division, hear their problems and explain their ambitious plan. In 11 days they have scheduled to meet in total representatives from 168 (!) clubs and teams. That’s why they made a little break on Saturday, by visiting Koper in order to watch the Eurobasket games of Group C.

The main goal of the new LNP project is not only to create better organization structure in “smaller” divisions, but also to have a scouting network in order to find talent everywhere in the country.
