Olympiacos is traveling to Brazil and he is expected in Sao Paolo at 6 a.m. local time on Wednesday. The Euroleague champions held a press conference just hours before entering the plane, they spoke about the challenge of winning the intercontinental cup in the double final of the 4th and the 6th of October and also about the challenge of scouting their opponent, Pinheiros.
As coach Bartzokas said: “I don’t know what to expect in Brazil. I know that every game is like a religion and also a party for the Brazilians. They are living the game and the stands are full. As far as we know both games are expected to be played in full house. Brazilians have a great tradition in every team sport and that includes basketball. They are currently in the middle of their domestic league and Pinheiros sky has a 10-8 record. It was hard to find information about our opponents, but we will have a clear image after the first game”. After all, the Greeks want the trophy: “We are motivated in order to win the intercontinental cup and we will fight for the title”.
Two players of Olympiacos, Acie Law and Giannis Papapetrou, are not travelling due to injuries.
