Just one day before the road game against Panathinaikos in Cyprus, Laboral Kutxa signed veteran Lithuanian guard Rimantas Kaukenas. The 36 years old player has a one-month contract in order to replace temporarily injured Thomas Kelati and Fernando San Emetario who left Cyprus and returned to Vitoria. The Basques have to battle a series of injuries and including Kaukenas they will have only 10 players available for the game against the Greeks.
In Eurocup, hours after the road defeat by Unics Kazan, Banvit announced the signing of Serbian guard Stefan Markovic. A former Valencia player, Markovic was a free agent, rumored some weeks ago as a target of Panathinaikos.
