Besiktas got the Eurochallenge

By Aris Barkas

Besiktas front line saved the best for last. Pops Mensah Bonsu (26 p. 20 r.) and Zoran Erceg (25 p. 15 r.) were spectacular in the Eurochallenge Final and their team won the trophy against Elan Chalon from France (91-86). British Mensah Bonsu was the game MVP.

Only six players scored for the winners and five of them were foreigners, but this is the story of Besiktas all season long. Besides the two forwards, Puerto Rican guard Carlos Arroyo had an excellent game (15 p. 8 as.). For the French side Steed Tschicamboud did his best with 19 points and 7 assists. Triumph Lyubertsy from Russia beat host Szolnoki Olaj from Hungury (94-87) in the consolation third place game.
